- UPDATE: Wake Forest *after* the Snow!
The Wake Forest Farmers Market has been move to Sunday 1/12 from 1-3PM due to the snowy/icy roads. We hope you can join us there!
The shiitake logs are in suspended animation while the temperatures dive below freezing. The oyster mushrooms are coming along nicely in the tents though … as shown, these are 3 or 4 days away from harvest.

Deerhoof Gardens is a small mushroom and herb garden farm in Pittsboro, NC. Our mission is to nurture life in all its forms, and share it with our community.
Deerhoof Gardens sells live herbs and gourmet mushrooms (and occasionally other produce such as figs, soil sprouts and fresh eggs) at several farmers markets in the Triangle area:
- Saturdays: Chatham Mills Farmer’s Market
- Occasional Saturdays: Wake Forest Farmer’s Market
- Thursdays: Pittsboro Farmers Market
- Occasional Thursdays: Siler City Growers & Makers Market
