It’s a great time for growing mushrooms! Even though we grow them indoors in a controlled environment, the oyster mushrooms can sense when it’s cooler outside and are happier. The tarragon oysters are doing especially well right now, but we should have plenty of blue oyster mushrooms at the Wake Forest Farmers Market this Saturday, 10/25!
The shiitakes are starting to pop out of the logs too, with the cooler weather. We just have to spray them down 2 or 3 times a day because it has been so dry! It’s worth it though, we should have a few boxes of shiitake on Saturday, but you may need to get there early to pick them up. Hope to see you there at 235 S Taylor St in Wake Forest from 9AM to 12PM!
